Italy's Antognolla Golf Club holds II Antognolla Open tournament 

28 October 2019, Perugia  – During the last weekend of October 2019, Antognolla Golf Club welcomed both golf members and invited guests to participate in the second edition of the Antognolla Open golf tournament. The Antognolla resort, positioned north of Perugia, typifies what Umbria is renowned for – a green landscape with breathtaking vistas for as far as the eye can see. Golfers in Antognolla were able to enjoy what has become widely recognised as one of the top 18-hole golf courses in Italy, designed by renowned golf architect, Robert Trent Jones Jr. 

Before the action commenced on the course, golfers were treated to a golf trick show from a PGA professional. Golf lessons were offered to those golf beginners who wanted to master their golf swing. The day started in a relaxed manner, before participants moved on to the serious matter of determining who would be crowned the absolute champion of the Antognolla Open for 2019.In addition to the tournament, invited guests were treated to a cultural programme that included historical tours and an introduction to local gastronomy. 

“The interest we have observed towards Antognolla Golf suggests that Umbria is gradually becoming a centre of attraction for golf lovers. The number of international players at our club has grown by 33% in the past year alone. The popularity of golf in Italy as a whole is rapidly gaining momentum, especially in anticipation of the Ryder Cup, which will be held in Italy in 2022,” said César Burguière, Golf Director at Antognolla Golf. 

As well as the incredible beauty of the golf course, the 12th century Antognolla castle is a masterpiece of medieval architecture that lends the entire estate a profound sense of nobility. It sits high above the golf course, commanding panoramic view across the 700Ha estate.
