Perugia Commune confirm building permit approval
14 May 2020, Perugia – Antognolla SpA are delighted to announce the Antognolla development has in recent days received building permit approval, Permesso di Costruire (PdC). The approval which captures residential, hotel and sports facilities is one of the largest ever issued in the Region.
The PdC approval was issued recognising the sensitivity of the design, both in its visual connection to the 12th Century Antognolla Castle and the breathtaking scenery of the estate. The local authorities were particularly impressed by the approach taken by the designers, sympathetically positioning the buildings within the beautiful surroundings. The project benefits from a mix of both Italian and international designers who have brought extensive hospitality experience to the project.
On the authorization Margherita Scoccia, Councilor for Urban Planning of the Municipality noted: “For the Region, this represents an important opportunity…the presence of a resort like Antognolla will allow the Perugia area to achieve the ambitious goal, of competing with highly prestigious tourist destinations”
Speaking of the news, Development Director at Antognolla, Jim Ryan advised: “The PdC approval represents a hugely important milestone for the Antognolla development. This authorisation is the culmination of a huge team effort, as we have looked to deliver on the investor’s exceptional vision for the resort. We can now plan for the completion of technical aspects of design, targeting a commencement of major construction later this year. We have enjoyed working in a collaborative and open environment with the local authorities, their support of the development has been of huge importance for us.”
The transition of the Antognolla resort from a design project to a built reality is underway, it promises to be a hugely exciting end to 2020 as construction work will commence, on what is sure to become on the must exclusive country resorts in Europe.
