Discover Antognolla

A new chapter in the rich Antognolla history has now begun, bringing together the heritage of Umbria with the comfort of modern living.

Antognolla’s Past

Dating back to at least the 12th century, the castle of Antognolla takes its name from a powerful local family. Even older is the crypt below the castle’s chapel, which was part of a Benedictine monastery and once housed the remains of Ercolano, the patron saint of Perugia. Today the castle lies at the heart of a 500-hectare estate of exceptional natural beauty, in ‘the green heart of Italy’ and within a few hours drive of Rome or Florence.

Antognolla’s Future

With the castle and estate soon to be transformed into a Six Senses Resort, a new chapter in the history of Antognolla has begun. The 107-key resort will include a striking medieval castle, luxury villas, contemporary designed spa suites in a newly-built borgo, Six Senses Spa, diverse cultural offering, an organic farm, and a state-of-the-art golf course. All are designed with a strong focus on sustainability, integrating new buildings with original historic architecture and an unspoiled natural environment. Antognolla Resort and Residences represents a unique marriage of authentic, ancient Umbria, with ultra-modern comfort.

Location

Antognolla Resort and Residences is located 20 kilometres north of Perugia, close to the regional border with Tuscany. Although remote, the secluded area of natural Umbrian countryside is still within easy reach of Florence (1 hour 45 minutes) and Rome (2 hours 15 minutes) and a 25-minute drive from Umbria International Airport. Close proximity to cultural and historical destinations including Gubbio, Assisi, Perugia and Lake Trasimeno.
