Antognolla, construction of resort begins

Antognolla Resort will be under construction for the remaining part of 2023. Once ready, the 71 keys hotel complex will adjoin the historic Antognolla Castle and propel the region to become a top global destination for an eco-conscious and authentic experience surrounded by the preserved historic architecture.

An additional ten million euros in investment have been contracted for the structural works covering the spa suites and the foundation and exterior structure of the main building, which will be situated on a hill overlooking the 12th century Antognolla castle.

When completed, the building will span several floors totalling 16,000 square meters, and will house a spa, swimming pools, the main reception, and important facilities of the resort. The contract also includes forty spa suites directly connected to the recreational areas.

"We are very proud to be announcing the start of works on the Resort,” commented Luca Aiwerioghene, senior construction manager at Antognolla, "today we are laying the foundation stone of this complex with the goal of building a tourist offer of the highest quality. Through the Resort, we want to present Umbria to visitors from all over the world and share its local flavours, picturesque landscapes and warm culture. Also, thanks to our golf course, certified as the "best course in Italy" by the World Golf Awards 2022, we are confident that once ready the Antognolla Resort will contribute to turning our region into a globally prominent destination."

The construction was awarded to the Italian company SACAIM, part of the group Rizzani de Eccher. Among the subcontractors are also many local companies in the province of Perugia, including Fagiolari of Città della Pieve.
