Antognolla Resort and Residences plants new merlot vines
Antognolla wine production is perfectly aligned with the resort’s wider offering. We have two important goals here: to preserve local heritage and to promote and develop Umbria by introducing members and guests to the local culture and produce.
Recently, we did an official merlot vine planting day with our expert oenologist Riccardo Cotarella. The vineyard is dedicated to high-end red wine production and hence, Mr. Cotarella’s guidance is crucial in the creation of the wine. The vineyard is about 1.75 hectares in the Pavia area with just over 7000 red grapes and we aim for the first bottles to be ready in 2026/2027, after 1-2 years of aging.
