Antognolla Resort and Residences partner of the exhibition: Medieval Art. The Masterpieces from Galleria Nazionale dell’Umbria
Perugia, May 18th 2021 – Antognolla Resort and Residences, the unique hospitality and golf project located in the undiscovered green heart of Italy, is happy to announce its partnership with the first intercultural exhibition “Medieval Art. The Masterpieces from Galleria Nazionale dell’Umbria” that will take place at the State Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg. For the first time ever, 40 masterpieces – paintings, sculptures and decorative art of XIII- beg. XIV century – belonging to Perugia’s Galleria Nazionale dell’Umbria will cross the Italian border and be hosted in the Nikolaevsky Hall at the Winter Palace.
Antognolla Resort and Residences’ interest for one of the most interesting intercultural appointments of the artistic panorama derives from its vocation to enhance the cultural and historical heritage of Umbria, among the most renowned destinations in Italy. Its willingness to bring the Antognolla Castle, an amazing architectural work, to a new life is just an example. The Castle will be restored in the most responsible way, with a close eye to sustainability, by preserving the surrounding environment and hiring both local workforce and entrepreneurs. All the work will be implemented in the name of local heritage protection: from culture to tradition, from people to the history of the territory.
“The Galleria Nazionale dell’Umbria is one of those treasures that we would like to support in the next years. That is why when we heard about the State Hermitage exhibition, we wanted to give our contribution to this intercultural partnership. We strongly believe that Umbria, its culture, amazing landscapes and inhabitants, have an unexplored potential. We want to play an active part in bringing this region among the most attractive destinations for tourists around the world. 2021 marks the “Italian-Russian Year of Museums” and this has appeared to us as the best opportunity to further and effectively support the territory” – Jim Ryan, Development Director of Antognolla Resort and Residences has declared.
